Why would anyone link Girl Scouts to Planned Parenthood?  That's a great question, glad you asked.

Life Decisions International (fightpp.org) produces a list of organizations the donate to Planned Parenthood.  For those of you who aren't aware, Planned Parenthood doesn't really help anyone plan for parenthood. Instead, they are responsible for the greatest percentage of abortions in this country.  Abortion is the opposite of parenthood.

Walt Disney, Circuit City,  JPMorgan Chase, Johnson & Johnson, Bank of America, Nieman Marcus, Patagonia,  Wells Fargo, Wachovia, Chase Bank, Bank One are some of the corporations that donate money to Planned Parenthood.  It seems odd that Walt Disney companies would benefit financially by an increase in abortion so I guess they fund the killing of babies for the better good.  Remember these companies make money when you buy their products and services, and then turn around and give some of that money to groups like Planned Parenthood. 

But wait, there's more.  It's not just big, impersonal corporations that celebrate a culture of death with their donations.  There are big, impersonal charities that take your donated money and time and turn it into the most vile product.  I think it's ridiculous to hear of charities that donate to other charities in the first place. If I am participating in the Race for the Cure, then I intend for that money to fund breast cancer research. I don't intend for them to turn around and give that money to a totally different group that I may or may  not support.  Last month the American Cancer Society gave a Planned Parenthood group in Iowa $5000 to tell it's clients to stop smoking.  It's laughable that an organization that won't tell woment the health risks of an abortion would be trusted to tell them the health risks of smoking? And the funny part is that the grant is to train staff.  What training do these so-called healthcare workers need to say "smoking's not healthy, you should quit. Here's the state's quit-line 800 number..."  Besides, the last thing a stressed out girl seeking an abortion will give up is her morning cigarette.

Maybe you are like me and wondering why in the world you should ever give a dime to charities like this if they have so much extra to give away to groups like Planned Parenthood.  If you are, then go the fightpp.org website and order up one of their lists so you can see what's really going on before you give. It's not just a matter of making sure they don't spend a lot on administration. You should know what "services" they are really providing with the money you donate.

And the Girl Scouts, too - yes they show as contributors to Planned Parenthood as well. It's amazing that we heard so much about the Girl Scout cookies trans-fats like it was some sort of scandal - as if anyone thought cookies were healthy foods in the first place.  But, if the Girl Scouts, American Cancer Society, the March of Dimes, and Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation donate money to Planned Parenthood to fund abortions, well, that's just not newsworthy.
